Celebration of the 78th Inauguration of the Academic Year 🎓

On 2 October 2026, the Medical University of Silesia celebrated the 78th Inauguration of the Academic Year 💙

This year’s ceremony took place in Zabrze-Rokitnica, the historic birthplace of our University, highlighting both our rich heritage and our vision for the future.

The event also marked the opening of a new Auditorium and the development of new educational and training facilities, including a sports hall and the Centre for Innovative Medical Education.

These projects are part of major investments supported by PLN 190 million in funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO), helping to modernise our campuses and strengthen the University’s potential for education, research and innovation 👏

The ceremony also provided an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the past academic year and look ahead to new challenges and opportunities.
