Applicants who completed secondary education in the United States of America are required to submit the high school diploma.

Final diploma grades from high schools are not converted into recruitment points, so all applicants must take an entrance examination.

• Medicine or Dentistry – entrance exam in Biology and one additional subject of their choice: Chemistry or Physics.
• other study programs – entrance exam requirements depend on the specific program regulations.

The certificate does not require recognition from Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

Please note that the MCAT examination must be taken by applicants who are U.S. citizens or hold U.S. permanent residency status and wish to apply for the Medicine program. However, no specific minimum score is required — the exam needs to be passed.

Evidence of English language proficiency

Non-EU citizens* are required to present an English language certificate in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 30 July 2025.

“Pursuant to Attachment No. 1 to Resolution No. 37/2025 of the Senate of the Medical University of Silesia dated 18 June 2025, concerning the terms, procedures, and dates of admission to studies conducted in English at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice for the academic year 2026/2027, Section IV, §7(10), the University Recruitment Committee shall have exclusive competence to make the final decision on the conversion of grades from the required subjects submitted by the candidate and considered for the selected field of study.
