Score calculation

Admission is granted based on the applicant’s placement on the ranking list, which is determined by the total number of points obtained from the following criterion:

  • Points calculated on the basis of grades listed in the official high school transcript or secondary school leaving certificate.

OR

  • Points obtained during the obligatory entrance examination. The examination is organized by the University and conducted online.

For the Medicine and Medicine and Dentistry programs, two subjects are selected for assessment: Biology (mandatory) and one of the following—Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics. All subjects must have been completed at an advanced level.

For other study programs, the rules set out in the document “Terms, procedures and dates of admission to studies conducted in English at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice in the academic year 2026/2027” shall apply.

In cases where the required subjects have not been completed (this does not apply to IB, EB, or the Polish Matura), the candidate is required to take an entrance exam.
