Minor candidates
For minors (students under the age of 18), an additional requirement must be met. This is the submission of a power of attorney signed by a legal representative, usually a parent or in rare cases another legal guardian.
This document authorises the minor to complete the necessary documentation and to act in the administrative proceedings of the Medical University of Silesia concerning the candidature for studies, as well as to apply for accommodation at the university, material assistance and other relevant student services.
The power of attorney ensures that a responsible adult legally supports the minor’s decision to study and take part in university life.
Once the document is submitted, the minor student can proceed with the enrollment process in the same way as an adult candidate, as long as they fulfill the necessary academic criteria for admission.

Important
- To enroll in studies, a minor candidate should come with a parent / legal guardian who, in person, next to an employee of the University, will sign a declaration of consent to undertake studies.
- In the case of enrollment for more than one program, a separate declaration is required for each of them.
- The parent / legal guardian may appoint a representative, who will submit a declaration of consent on his behalf (with the parent’s signature certified by a notary public). The representative must have a power of attorney signed by the parent / legal guardian. On the basis of this document, the representative may sign a personal questionnaire and a statement of knowledge and acceptance of payment conditions for studies.
