On November 8, 2024, at the Prof. Szaflarski Lecture Hall on the Katowice-Ligota campus, the authorities and staff of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Katowice, together with representatives of the Faculty Student Government Council and the Student Government Association (SGA), welcomed foreign medical students commencing their education at the Medical University of Silesia for the current academic year.

The welcome meeting was attended by Professor Tomasz Francuz, MD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Katowice; Professor Aneta Gawlik-Starzyk, MD, PhD, Vice-Dean for the English Language Program; as well as members of the Dean’s Office staff who provide administrative support to English-language medical students.

Freshman foreign students were also welcomed into the academic community by representatives of university student organizations, including Julia Plewniok, Chair of the Faculty Student Government Council, and Adin Asi, Mooman Muhammad, Mario Sonbol, Mohed Muhammad, and Simin Arbabi, representatives of the Student Government Association (SGA).
